Born in South Africa the year Nelson Mandela became President, Sharndré Kushor was her parents’ “freedom baby.”
Her mother, a speech therapist, and father, an educator, taught her that opportunity and learning could change lives - a belief that would shape everything to come.

2002

MOVED TO NZ

The family moves from South Africa to Gisborne, New Zealand, seeking a future without limits.

Life on the coast gives Sharndré perspective - gratitude for her roots, curiosity for the world, and a sense that possibility is something you create, not inherit.

2005-2012

FINDING HER VOICE

Moving to Auckland for school, Sharndré throws herself into every opportunity: student council, UNICEF Youth Ambassador, head student, local government rep.
Her goal wasn’t just about achievement - it was using her voice to open doors for others.

THE SPARK OF AN IDEA

While studying Pre-Med at the University of Auckland, a part-time tutoring job sparks bigger questions:
What do I want to be? How do I reach my potential?

Those conversations become Crimson Education - a mission to democratise access to the world’s best universities.

BUILDING WHILST STUDYING

Sharndré graduates with a Bachelor of Health Sciences while running Crimson full time.
Balancing study and scaling a start-up teaches her that purpose and performance can - and should - coexist.

2017

A GLOBAL MISSION

Sharndre lead's Crimson expands to over 24 countries, helping students gain entry to top global universities from all over the world.

Sharndré laid the foundations for one of New Zealand’s newest billion-dollar companies, earning Forbes 30 Under 30 and multiple Businesswoman of the Year honours.

2021

A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS

After nearly a decade leading Crimson’s growth, Sharndré transitioned from daily operations to focus on new ventures - while continuing to serve a two-year term on the board of directors, guiding the company’s strategic direction.


That same year, she launches The One Billion - a charitable foundation dedicated to improving one billion lives through education and health.
The organisation’s inaugural partnership with UNICEF New Zealand focused on delivering the Unconscious Bias in Schools programme, helping educators create more inclusive and equitable classrooms.

2022

Sharndré makes her first startup investment, marking the start of her journey as an active investor.
She begins investing in and mentoring founders building at the intersection of technology, health, and education -  helping them grow faster, lead better, and stay true to their mission.

By 2025, more than $9 million has been deployed into purpose-driven startups, including the launch of Nebbi, a mental health and wellbeing platform.
The One Billion has now partnered with over 25 charities advancing education and health — early steps in a generational mission to empower one billion people through opportunity and access.

Named after the street in Pietermaritzburg where she was born, Morrison Road Ventures is the evolution of her life’s work - a platform to back the bold and build for legacy.

Through Morrison Road Ventures, Sharndré unites her companies, investments, and philanthropy into one ecosystem built to scale prosperity, purpose, and possibility.
